We're raising money for our local youth project, which we're both involved in.

When Helen first moved to East London in 2009, it was to volunteer at the youth club in BV hall (where we had our wedding reception and are now having our 10 year celebration). 16 years later, Helen is the CEO of West Silvertown Foundation (the charity that runs the hall and the youth project), and Donald is one of our youth workers.

Donald coordinates our mentoring project - both delivering mentoring himself and getting local professionals to volunteer as mentors in our nearby secondary school.

When we have our party we'll be part way through our busiest time of year - Summer scheme. We'll have over 100 children in the building every day doing activities from art to roller skating to laser tag. And it's all planned and led by a team of 15-21 year old young leaders (while we run around in the background making it go smoothly!).

This year we've faced really significant funding cuts and we're currently seeking funding to keep the project going next year. So if you would like to give us something for our anniversary (and we're really not expecting gifts but we know some of you will ask), this is something that would mean a lot to us.
