THE CHRISTMAS DO WITH A DIFFERENCE
As we approach Christmas 2020, poverty in the UK is spiralling out of control. The pandemic has brought on the biggest recession in a generation.
This winter, food banks are expecting to give out an emergency food parcel every 9 seconds.
We can’t have a Christmas do, or even an office buffet, but we can still do something positive to help families in crisis by donating the money we would have spent to a great cause, one that will be tackling food poverty and hunger in our local community this Christmas. If we stand together, we have the power to help build a Hunger Free Future!
South Trafford Foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area. A simple box of food makes a big difference, with foodbanks helping prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown and mental health problems. The foodbanks have continued to operate throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and your contribution can help them continue that support over the Christmas period. Big or small, every gift you give helps transform lives!
In order to limit contact, we will not be collecting food through a drop-off box. Instead, the money collected will go directly to the project, so the volunteers can fill the gaps by buying the items that are urgently needed, but lacking.
