As part of a fundraising event on behalf of the WomenCentre, Steph and Roz will be joining 5 other colleagues to abseil down wainhouse tower on a date to now be confirmed in November ( we were due to abseil down the tower on the 4th October 2025, but due to estimated winds of 40mph and poor weather conditions, this has now been postponed and we anticipate a better day in November to undertake this challenge - will keep you updated with photo's etc)

At 275 feet ( 84 meters), Wainhouse tower is the tallest structure in Calderdale. We will have to climb a total of 405 steps to the top viewing platform from which we will abseil down the tower.

The WomenCentre is celebrating 40 years this year and as a result a number of fundraising events to celebrate their work and help to continue to provide valuable resources to women experiencing Domestic Abuse.
