A Home for Sunshine & Smiles – Building an Inclusive Future Together

Sunshine & Smiles – Leeds Down Syndrome Network has grown from a small parent-led group into a vibrant, city-wide charity supporting children and adults with Down syndrome and their families. Now, we’re ready to take the next bold step: creating a permanent, accessible, sustainable and inclusive home for our community.

We’re launching our most ambitious project ever – raising £1.1 million to purchase and renovate a building that will become a community hub for Sunshine & Smiles and co-locating our cafe projects.

This space will house our support services, social enterprises, early years programmes and employment initiatives. It will also be open to the wider Leeds community, offering a welcoming, accessible and sustainable space for connection, creativity  and collaboration.

This page is the heart of our fundraising campaign. It brings together all the incredible individuals, teams and events raising money towards this shared goal. Whether you’re running a marathon, hosting a bake sale, or donating your birthday money, your efforts will be reflected here – showing the power of collective action and community spirit.

We know this is a huge target. But we also know the impact this space will have: more opportunities for people with Down syndrome to thrive, more support for families and a lasting legacy of inclusion.
