On 9th June 2013, Alastair pushed himself to the limit when he joined Clive and Simon to compete in the Blenheim Triathlon. He braved the icy waters of the lake for the 750m swim (did we mention the man-eating pike!), cycled the 20 Km like Wiggo and finally put his new training shoes through their paces as he ran the final 5 Km (Mo Farah watch out!) to achieve a fantastic time of 1h 33 minutes in his first ever triathlon. He also raised over £200 for Mia's Wood with his exertions.
Why they need our serviceMia's Wood is creating a brand new wood in Buckinghamshire that aims to engage and inspire little people's love of nature. All funds raised will go towards providing more trees and wildflowers for the meadow and picnic area, helping to further enhance this beautiful and evolving setting.
Plan and expected resultsCompleting the Blenheim Triathlon in one piece was a fantastic achievement by a team of guys who don't really want to admit they are perhaps a bit past their prime....... We all knew and loved Mia and actively supporting the creation of a wood in her memory is something that is close to all our hearts.
