Alex Rocks Snowdon 2016

Hi Everyone, Alex here! On the 14th December I am taking part in a crazy adventure which will see a group of 14 people climb Snowdon dressed as Santas. At the top of the mountain we will then play the highest gig in the country this Christmas! Why are we doing this?? Because right now approximately 3 young people in every classroom have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder. 1 in 10 young people self harm regularly and over half of all diagnosed cases of mental ill health begin at 14! WAYC does some amazing work supporting young people affected by illnesses such as depression and anxiety. The Sharp Minds project helps create inclusive environments where young people who are struggling with these issues can meet with others who understand and also experiencing these illnesses. The result is positive relationships form; young people are no longer isolated; they have friends they can turn to and who support them and can support them in turn. So this is why we are doing this!
