As many of my family, friends & customers know I’ve been training for last five months for the race and lost 43 pound and attending the gym. Please support me by giving whatever you can! You all know how competitive I am and I’d like to raise the most sponsorship able and will try my best to run throughout! Amanda ???‍♀️ On Sunday 10th June I will be attempting to complete 11 gruelling off-road miles and Race the Train between Bury and Rawtenstall! I’m doing this on behalf of Manchester YMCA’s ‘Inspiring Futures’ Project which works with young people 16 - 24 who provide care, assistance or support to another family member. This care is regular, significant and substantial, requiring a level of responsibility that would normally be associated with an adult. The transition into adulthood and employment for these young carers can be complicated by a lack of qualifications, social skills and the pressures associated with a continuing caring role. By delivering work related skills workshops and individual support the Inspiring Futures project increases the confidence, social skills and employability of these young people, engaging with them to achieve positive outcomes in education, physical and mental wellbeing and independence.
