Hanslope Community Orchard are looking to crowd fund the cost of a living willow walk being installed in the entrance of Hanslope Community Orchard.  This portion of land is unsuitable for fruit tree planting, and perfectly wet and boggy for willow!

The Willow Walk will be in memory of one of our founding members and Hanslope community champion; Andrea Kingston, who sadly passed away after a short and sudden illness this summer.

Andrea was passionate about mental health and walking for health; in particular the therapeutic benefits of meditation, quiet and nature.  We feel a Willow Walk is a fitting dedication to Andrea as local residents; young and old, can explore the Orchard through the sensory walkway and pause to take in the contrast and shelter from the elements.

One of our members has offered to lead the planting of the willow, possibly with volunteers as part of a workday, but if we manage to raise a significant amount we will be able to outsource this to a professional living willow hedge installer.
