I am doing a firewalk to raise funds for IMARA, a not for profit Community Interest Company (CIC) based in Nottingham. IMARA was set up in 2010 by my friend Cath Wakeman to offer early intervention support to children, teenagers and families after a disclosure of child abuse. For more info see: http://www.imara.org.uk/
IMARA are not a big charity and the work they do is vital to support children and young people through difficult and challenging circumstances at a time when there is little or no support from statutory bodies. I know they are in desperate need of funding right now and I ask that you chip in to help out.
You can watch us overcome our fears and walk through fire at Notts County Football ground on Thursday 14th April 2016. Spectators are invited for 7.30pm when music, BBQ, a bar and a cake stall will be available in advance of the walk at around 8.30pm. It will be great to be cheered on and celebrate afterwards.
Thanks,
Barbara
