We're now onto our sixth year of doing the Big Bath Sleep Out for Julian House but no less determined than we were in our first year.
Every year, we hope that it will be the last time because the powers-that-be will finally decide that it is unconscionable that anyone should be without safe and secure housing. However, each year we see that this most fundamental human right is denied to more and more people in our country.
The sleep out doesn't mimic what it's like to actually be homeless. We will spend our evening with friends and with the knowledge that we only need to last until the morning before we can go home, have a hot shower and probably have a nap in our beds.
But do feel assured when parting with your money that we'll definitely have a really unpleasant time as we try to sleep. We'll be cold, most likely wet and if we sleep at all it will be for no longer than about 20 minutes at a time.
Please make political decisions that mean we don't have to keep doing this.
