Staff at Birmingham South Central CCG are passionate about supporting survivors of domestic violence. Domestic Violence and Abuse (DVA) affects one in four women in the UK, which equated to around 25,000 women across Birmingham in 2009. Since then numbers have continued to rise. Since 2013 there have been 24 domestic homicides across the city. In response we have been working with some of our third sector partners across the city who offer hope and support to survivors of domestic violence. The Freedom Project provides programmes of support to victims and their children, by raising their self-esteem and resilience to allow them to move on with their lives. The programme receives no public funding and is reliant on your generosity. With that in mind some of our staff will be running a half marathon to raise funds for the project. We are urging our friends, family and colleagues to show their support by sponsoring our efforts. Please give as much or as little as you can, it all makes a difference. Your help and support is much needed and appreciated Thank you.
