MK YMCA Sleep Easy 2017

Hi I live in Milton Keynes and homelessness is something I feel very passionate about. It is very easy for young people to find themselves in circumstances beyond their control, with no where to turn they can very easily find themselves homeless with no where to turn. MK YMCA is the only emergency accommodation for young people in Milton Keynes. It also recognises the need for young people to secure long term accommodation whilst developing the necessary life skills to achieve independence. It aims to tackle social exclusion through the provision of safe and secure accommodation as well as the delivery of learning, volunteering and social activity programmes. On Friday 3rd March myself and other fundraisers will be bedding down in cardboard boxes on the streets of Central Milton Keynes to experience the conditions that rough sleepers have to endure every night and to gain sponsorship and raise money for MK YMCA.
