Between 10-13 September 2018, I will run the length of Hadrian’s Wall (150km) to raise money for Bristol Refugee Rights (BRR). Bristol Refugee Rights is a leading non-gov. organisation who aim to support refugees and asylum seekers in the Bristol area. Supporting refugees and asylum seekers is particularly relevant in the current global context, in which we have seen the largest migration of displaced people in history and, furthermore, in the context of Brexit and recent rise of right wing politics in Europe and worldwide. BRR offers legal advice, language training, creches and more to those fleeing conflict and persecution. BRR MISSION STATEMENT -To welcome asylum seekers and refugees in Bristol. -To create a place of solidarity and trust. -To challenge the injustices that we experience and witness in the UK. -To learn from each other and develop partnerships and links with the wider community to promote equality of opportunity for asylum seekers and refugees. GOALS Safety - BRR offers a unique community hub for transforming the lives of those seeking asylum; we are a key partner in Bristol being a City of Sanctuary. Solidarity - Celebrate equality and diversity, learn from each other and develop new understanding and through this promote community cohesion and mutual respect. Action for Change - Build grassroots movements to break down segregation, uphold and defend human rights and actively campaign on issues affecting asylum seekers and refugees. BRR supports asylum seekers and refugees to utilize their skills and take a full and active part in the community of Bristol. For more infomation on BRR please click here: https://www.bristolrefugeerights.org/ THE RUN The Wall is 74 miles (119 km) stretching from the East Coast to the West Coast of Britain but I will run the recognized Trail, which is 150km, between 10 and 13 September 2018 in order to raise as much as I can for BRR. I need your support to donate via this site.
