At John Taylor Hospice our staff and volunteers believe that ‘every moment matters’. And we are totally committed to providing the best quality care in the Hospice and in the community.
Founded in 1912, John Taylor Hospice has been a vital part of the Birmingham community for more than 100 years. Each day more than 600 people across the city and their families will receive the care they need from us.
History matters at John Taylor Hospice. Did you know our home The Grange is the former house of renowned Victorian photographer Benjamin Stone?
The Sutton Coldfield MP brought the world in which he lived to life through photography. In black and white stills he captured pictures of people in their home, people in power and everyday objects through still life photography. And he travelled the globe, ensuring moments of history have been retained for current generations.
In 1948 the house in which Sir Benjamin Stone lived, The Grange, became the home of John Taylor Hospice and it has remained at the heart of all we do for more than 65 years.
We are proud of our heritage which is why an exciting new project at the Hospice is aiming to celebrate Sir Benjamin.
We are commissioning a talking figure of the famous photographer which will be housed in the Hospice’s reception area. The figure will speak each time a gift is made, explaining how the investment will be used to support those we care for and our community.
By celebrating our heritage we aim to share our pride in The Grange and in Sir Benjamin and his incredible legacy.
Now is your chance to invest – help us to create our own Sir Benjamin Stone.
