6 crazy people are going to take part in a group bungee jump from 175ft attached to crane. Why you ask? To raise money for an organisation called Imara that supports children and young people following a disclosure of child sexual abuse. The crazy 6 are: Jemma Purnell Thomas Konsek Josh Purnell Chloe Johnson Matt Purnell Charlie bell IMARA is an early intervention service for children and families in Nottinghamshire, following a disclosure of sexual abuse. The core focus of their work is to facilitate recovery from child sexual abuse. IMARA works with children from the point of disclosure to the police. They provide support throughout the criminal justice process; provides strategies to cope with acute trauma symptoms (e.g. sleep disturbance, flashbacks and anxiety) IMARA highlights the disruption to families' emotional well being and physical health and the practical impacts like education and employment. IMARA empowers them to recover and reclaim their futures. £10 allows a Trauma Care Worker to travel 25 miles to see clients ho need home visits. £50 will allow a full day of visits for a Trauma Care Worker. £100 provides a therapeutic assessment to a victim to reduce their acute stress symptoms.
