The Camden Unity Cup is an annual football tournament organised by young people, for young people. Young people are supported in planning a series of match day festivals on their local football pitches throughout the summer holidays. They participate in training in event management and are supported in delivering all aspects of the programme. This includes stewarding, organising food/refreshments, decorations, hosting and planning a variety of games and entertainment.
Why they need our serviceThe Camden Unity Cup has been running every year since 1999 and is one of Camden's largest and most well known football tournaments. It gives young people ownership of their football pitches and the responsibility to create safe environments for others to come into. It also celebrates the importance of local outdoor play areas. The tournament hosts football at its most grass roots level and encourages local young people to set up teams just for the event.
Plan and expected resultsEach year over 100 young people help organise the event and up to 700 players, aged 10-18, including girls, take part in the match day tournaments.
