Caroline Tomlinson has spent the last 28 years inspiring families of loved ones with disabilities to see positive and possible solutions that enable the whole family to live a good life. Motivated and driven by her son Joe now 28 years old, who has complex disabilities she has paved an amazing pathway for him by influencing policy makers and changing the way the state system works. Caroline has shared her learning from Joe and has held the hand of many families showing them how to practically make change in the life of their loved ones.
C has founded, created, developed and led charities locally and nationally from Embrace Wigan and Leigh to In Control and more recently My Life Legacy. Her work over the years has made a significant difference to people all over the world who are struggling because of disability, old age and or illness. Her motivation and drive comes from her belief that everyone has the right to belong.
C has worked tirelessly to get My Life Legacy off the ground for the past 4.5 years so we can offer real person centred education, meaningful opportunities, advocacy and find new and positive solutions. She has enabled over 250 people in gain work - an amazing achievement in just over 4 years!
Although C isn't short of something to do she has decided to do a personal challenge to climb the highest mountain in Morocco alongside some amazing people to raise money for My Life so we can help and support more people to get the care and support they need.
For those who know C walking 10 miles each day over 6 days up hill will not be easy. C has started her training by walking to work each day and will continue to build her stamina over the coming months. Caroline will need lots of encouragement and support so please sponsor this amazing adventure to give people a real hand up, rather than a hand out ..... thank you x
