The Why?
2024 is set to be a challenging year across the voluntary sector as the demand for support increases across our community and the financial support available for organisations becomes more stretched than ever before; we are seeing local councils make some difficult decisions to reduce funding to services and grant giving organisations are seeing more applications than ever before for the same available funding.
At Our Place Support we are determined to maintain our mentoring and advice services and continue to operate our Community Hub.
The Impact
Each week we help an average of 105 people with either a mentoring session to support mental health wellbeing, an advice session to help with benefits, housing or employment issues or early intervention advice and support.
We also see around 180 people visiting our Community Hub each week accessing a whole range of additional support services.
The Challenge!
As part of the 2024 Our Place Fundraising challenge am completing an 11 mile Snowdon Hike, from Llanberis to the Snowdon summit as a team; the highest mountain in Wales standing 1085 meters above sea level. This challenge will be taking place in August and will see our multi-ability team aim to hike Snowdon; as an extra challenge there will be some team members navigating the route!
Can you support?
I know that for many people financial support is difficult right now as we are all navigating increased living costs but any sponsorship you can make will add up to helping us at Our Place Support make a real lasting impact for the people we support. If you can't support financially right now; please consider a social media share.
Thank you in advance and wish me luck! :)
