Hi everyone!
Thank you for looking at this page! I'm Meredith, 17, and this summer (after exams) I'm planning on completing a sky-dive in aid of WAYC. The Warwickshire Association of Youth Clubs supports not only the groups themselves but works with young people and youth workers, helping those who cannot live at home any more and providing people with the training needed to support them.
Without knowing it, I researched and found that at a time, WAYC supported the local youth club in my village. While it no longer runs, I have fond memories of when I was younger, and it has made me more determined to take part in this.
The activity I'm doing is a tandem skydive; we jump out at 13,300 feet, or 3 miles, and travel at over 120mph before using a parachute to safely land. The photo here was taken on top of Sigiriya in Sri Lanka, at 660ft (I'm on the right). It seems high but the skydive will be completed at 20x the distance (and going much faster than what we climbed at!). It's something that I never thought I'd have the opportunity to do, and being able to complete it while fundraising for such a good cause is something I'm delighted to be a part of!
Please, if you can, support me (and WAYC) in this!
Thank you so much,
Meredith :) x
