On the 17th May 2015 I am taking part in the Leaden Boot Challenge, a 26.2 mile walk across the Peak District. The route includes 5800 feet of ascent and descent and I have a maximum of 12 hours to complete the course.
While achieving a personal goal, I am also hoping to raise money for Worksop Live At Home Scheme; a charity dedicated to improving the lives of individuals, over the age of 60, at risk of social isolation in Worksop and surrounding areas. The charity aims to provide emotional and practical support to individuals to remain living in their own homes and enhance their quality of life and prolong independent living.
The charity provides lunch clubs, a befriending service, assisted shopping trips, day trips and companionship.
Since working with the charity in 2009 I have witnessed the positive impact that their services have on individuals and also the financial challenges that a small charity faces.
Please support me to help Worksop Live At Home to continue to provide excellent services for local older people.
Many thanks for your support.
