This is a project designed to support disadvantaged children, from poor backgrounds, with their homework. The project will run two sessions (3 hours) on every other Saturday per month. It will also give opportunity to children to get a one-to-one tutorial in order to increase their understanding on subjects they don't understand. Tutorial lessons will draw upon the national curriculum depending of the need assessment of each child.

Why they need our service
Most members of the African French community background are facing a very tough barriers about communication. Their English language is very poor. Therefore, they are unable to support their children with homework, reading skills and maths. Therefore, many children have been coming to us to seek support with their homework. The need for this project has been assessed and we have already started providing support to children since last year and we are still in need of resources to extend this activity.

Plan and expected results
The children will have increased their skills in numeracy and literacy. They will have increased their communication skills in English and French. Children will learn to work hard and invest more time in their studies. Children will have developed more skills in IT which will help them to do research online.
