We are looking to raise £800 for this year's gala, the money pays for entertainers, prizes, games, equipment, and refreshments. Each year the Gala has a theme with a Fancy Dress parade for children and adults alike to dress up. The theme for 2019 will be Jurassic Parkinson's park and will complement our now completed research on the archeology, geology and ecology of our park and should also be popular with children of all ages

In 2019, The Friends of Parkinson's Park will be holding their 7th Children's Gala. The Gala continues a tradition started in the late 1940's by Crompton Parkinson - one that left lasting memories with many local people. We hope that the Galas the Friends hold will have the same long lasting effect. We are planning a theme of Jurassic Parkinson's Park and we are already planning what shape that will take but it will include dinosaurs. It will also fit well with our historical research project.

A lasting memory and community spirit is what we hope to achieve.We also want to encourage new families to the area in new housing developments close by to enjoy this wonderful wild open space. Approximately 500 people of all ages attended the gala of 2018 and we used the day to consult with local people as to how they would want the park to develop and improve in the future
