Choice is a supported volunteering project which aims to help people who would like to volunteer but may need extra support to do so. We recruit people who would like to volunteer but may need additional support to do so. This support is provided from recruitment to placement and ongoing support is also available.

Choice involves, encourages and supports volunteers to take full advantage of volunteering whilst promoting equality and diversity. Anyone with additional support needs who feels unable to volunteer independently can use the service. We train support assistants to work with volunteers and this helps increase their skills and confidence. CHOICE is committed to creating a network of support to make Calderdale a safer, friendlier place for people who may have additional support needs.

People with support needs can access more fulfilling volunteering opportunities. Organisations are supported to take on volunteers with additional support needs and make a more diverse workforce. In the past year Choice have place over 100 people with additional support needs in volunteering positions.
