In February of 2021 Chris and Stella found a shared new passion in downhill mountain biking. Yet whilst the exhilaration of descending mountains at speed is a lot of fun, the pair wanted to take part in a different sort of riding adventure.
With minimal experience between them in biking long distances, they have now set themselves the challenge of biking, off road, from London to Brighton in one day. Estimated at between 60 – 65 miles in length this is an exhilarating challenge along varied terrain. Their physical endurance levels will certainly be put to the test!
So, at 7:30am on Saturday 4th September, alongside many other willing participants, Chris and Stella will start their long and gruelling journey to the south coast. Why would they choose to put themselves through such an endeavour you might ask and the reason is to support a wonderful and vital service provided by Nottingham based charity Imara.
Imara is an independent specialist service that supports children, young people and their safe family members following a disclosure or discovery of child sexual abuse. This is a really important cause supporting an often-hidden issue. Child sexual abuse has lasting impact, and the work that Imara does in providing therapy and support provides a vital service for our local community.
We really hope you can support Imara through supporting us to complete what feels like an epic feat!
