I am taking part in the 8.5 mile Fun Run on Sunday 2 June to raise money for John Taylor Hospice. I would like to do something good for such a wonderful place. In 2009 my lovely mum Sheila found out she had terminal cancer. At the time I was pregnant with my son Lenny. Mum was very poorly but made it through my pregnancy and was here against all the odds for Lenny's arrival. It was a very emotional time for everyone.
Why they need our serviceThree weeks after Lenny was born Mum became very poorly and was admitted to John Taylor Hospice very quickly with no prior arrangement. The Hospice did everything they could for my mum. They made us very welcome. We came and went whenever we wanted. The nurses went out of their way to look after us and, most of all, they controlled the pain my mum was in so for the last few days of her life she was as comfortable as she could be. I could never thank the Hospice enough.
Plan and expected resultsJohn Taylor Hospice provides expert palliative care to local people. Every week they care for more than 600 patients across all their services - whether that be at the Hospice or in a patient's own home. The Hospice vision is to make 'every moment matter' for all those they care for and their loved ones. All donations help the hospice to carry out the work they do.-----> PLEASE QUOTE MY NAME WHEN MAKING A DONATION. So far Claire has received £85 in named donations!!
