The project offers young people the opportunity to take part in weekly football and physical fitness coaching sessions and competitive matches. Volunteers from the local community support and mentor the young people.
Why they need our serviceYoung people who attend the project face a number of challenges such as low income families, poor health or academic skills, gang/crime related activities, and those who are at risk of exclusion or NEET. The young people are often vulnerable to peer pressure and have low confidence or aspirations for life. The project offers the chance to make new friends, stay safe and get involved in decision making and pathways at the Club.
Plan and expected resultsDeveloping the life skills, education, health, self-confidence and self-esteem of young people and enable them to enjoy activities, make constructive use of their leisure time and raise their aspirations. Previous participants who achieved an FA Level 1 with the Club and are positive role models, help to deliver the project 3 times a week and have the opportunity to earn paid work. A Community Presentation Event will be held to celebrate the young peoples achievements.
