Waterloo Sports and Football Club is a community led organisation set up to improve the quality of life for children and young people living in Waterloo and the South London area. The Club utilises the power of sport for social change, to engage and enable young people to explore and develop their interests, which provides them with the skills to make positive steps in their lives.

Why the community needs us

Our Club provides year round activities, opportunities and support for young people, who mainly live in areas of high deprivation, or are vulnerable or at risk of offending. 85% of young people are from BME backgrounds, 70% live in low income households. Over 150 children and young people attend the Club each week, to build friendships, have fun and lead an active and healthy lifestyle through doorstep sport, without price being a barrier.

Our impact on the community

WSFC has over 15 years experience of managing estate based programmes and providing pathways to achievement for participants within the local community. Many young people have moved on to achieve significant success in their lives, whether through education, playing sport, employment or cultural activities. 260 young people achieved coaching accreditations. In 2012, we supported 24 volunteers aged 16-24, to deliver 4608 hours of volunteering to their community.
