This summer we would like to concentrate on the great outdoors, bringing nature closer to the children and young people by providing in house workshops and trips such as "Animals Take Over and trips to Farmer Teds and Walton Hall Gardens etc.". Breaking down barriers and preventing children and young people from being afraid by introducing them to unusual animals such as reptiles.
Why they need our serviceChildren and young people living in a deprived city with very little in the way of local amenities or positive opportunities in which to engage. For this reason we provide a free open access after school and holiday play scheme Monday to Friday, throughout the year. Some may never have visited a farm or had the chance to encounter unusual animals such as reptiles/birds of prey etc.
Plan and expected resultsChildren and young people will experience the great outdoors during the summer holidays, they will engage with a diverse range of animals, participate in woodland walks, visit a farm and enjoy outdoor games in the parks. Up to 90 children and young people will have something positive to look forward to and enjoy these fun and outdoor opportunities.
