Giles and Ella (and maybe a few more friends!) are going to cycle the west coast of Ireland this summer during a whole month from mid-June to mid-July! We've chosen this ride because everyone tells us that it's beautiful, and neither of us have spent much time in Ireland before. We both love seeing and traveling around places by bike.

We've decided that we would like to use the ride as a chance to raise money for the Bristol-based, Bristol Refugee Rights charity. We're hoping to keep the fundraising project ongoing: we want to make paintings of photographs that we take along the ride, and to turn those paintings into postcards to sell at a later point.

Bristol Refugee Rights (BRR) is a charity which aims to protect and champion the rights of refugees and asylum seekers in Bristol and in the whole of the UK. BRR help refugees and asylum seekers deal with the day-to-day emotional struggles and structural obstacles which prevent people from obtaining refugee status in the UK, and aim to help people participate in local communities. In order to do this, they provide legal services, crêche facilities, language support and a community hub in Bristol.

The process of obtaining refugee status is a complex and difficult experience, and Bristol Refugee Rights does vital work with asylum seekers in and around Bristol.

If you want to find out more about what they do, here's a link to the BRR website: https://www.bristolrefugeerights.org/
