Week 3 - Aireborough Leisure Centre or Kirkstall Bowling. Week 4 - Speaker / Community Involvement

Why they need our service

DREAM caters for people with any disability aged between 18-65, who live in N.W.Leeds, as there is a shortfall of social care provision for this age range. Carers and volunteers are welcome to attend. The group is user led. We aim to combat social isolation, support disabled people's recreational needs, share information to aid independence and life planning for disabled people and be available to be involved in planning and development of local services that affect disabled people.

Plan and expected results

Our aim is to improve the health and well being of our members and to encourage physical activity. We have art workshops to encourage creativity, and to improve self-esteem on achieving a finished product. We aim to produce items that we can sell to raise money for the group. We have speakers on a variety of topics e.g. Police about Home Security, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and D.I.A.L. Leeds all of which promote community involvement. The provision of our meetings combats social isolation.
