Hi my names Dan and Im a peer support practitioner in a community mental health team.
After visiting the open Art Surgery with a good friend/fellow peer worker to get an idea of what kind of support they offer, we were blown away by how much this place represented the whole purpose of peer support and revitalised our passion for what we do and why we do it.
This is the sort of thing people need. This is the kind of stuff that actually helps people when they are going through hard times in their lives.
I left the group and was shocked at how much something so simple had such a profound effect.
This is what its all about.
This is what peer support should look like.
This could save lives.
