Distinct 3 Peaks supporting Stonebridge City Farm

We're dusting off our walking boots to raise money for Stonebridge City Farm by completing the 3 Peaks Challenge on 28th October 2017. Stonebridge City Farm is a small slice of the countryside in the heart of the City of Nottingham! Stonebridge City Farm is a charity that uses the unique farm environment to create a positive impact on the lives and well-being of a range of ‘client’ groups including: Empowering the Disadvantaged They aim to breakdown barriers that hold people back, help to increase motivation, self-esteem and to build confidence and skills so individuals can better engage with the community and the world around them,. Developing the Local Community They offer a safe and peaceful haven, opportunities to learn about animal husbandry, horticulture and the environment whilst fostering cohesion and interaction between the diverse groups that make up our community. Protecting the environment They aim to model good practice integrating energy conservation, recycling and organic practices into their training. Holding open days to highlight environmental issues and encourage all who visit and use the farm to safeguard our local environment and the planet as a whole. The farm was set up in the late 1970s, and will be celebrating its 40th anniversary. Its ideals include providing a much-needed green space, sustainable buildings, distinctive local identity and people who care and respect the community. The site is accessible to all – families with young children, people with disabilities, and parties from schools and colleges.The farm has been accredited with many awards for its efforts and contributions over the years, as they provide so much to community and would like to take pride in this.
