“Changing for change” is Quilombo UK’s new social experiment. We hope that this challenge will enable us to discover the difficulties that people can face as a result of their choice of appearance.
To help us “Changing for change”, the team at Quilombo UK will experience a day as a member of trans community in order to observe the reaction of the general public and raise money for our charitable objectives. The challengers will be filmed going through everyday activities dressed in their regular clothes and later dressed as a woman, so we can observe the difference in the way they are being treated. The goal of the project is to discover what is the root of prejudice or nonacceptance, towards people who dress or behave outside the norm. The question is: "Is it because the clothes they wear are feminine or is it the kind of feminine clothes they wear? Is b is it because their behavior is feminine or because of the kind of feminine behavior they are presenting?"
