Hi thanks for looking. It's now the third year I will be taking to the sunny sites of the Black Countries' Dudley Trail to raise funds for projects close to my heart. The first project is "The Feelgood Choir" which many of you generously gave to last year - Thank You. We are still keeping on going and have new members thanks to you. However without your donations we wouldn't be. If you don't know the Feelgood Choir; most of our members have longterm physical or mental health problems and many find it hard to get out the house and meet people and have confidence and low self esteem issues. The choir is a place for people to come together with a shared goal and gain confidence and connect with others. As one person said:" “This helps people to get out, without places like this we would lock ourselves away again"
The second project will go towards supporting our self help and Peer Support Groups. These are for people who experience a variety of mental health problems. It is a place for people to come together maybe once a week, or once a month with others who share similar experiences. Having a mental illness can be very isolating and a frightening experience. Having these groups enables people to share experiences and get support from each other. One member explains: "For me the group gives me somewhere to meet people with the same sort of issues, a chance to meet new people and a reason to get out of the house."
Anything you can give is really appreciated and if you are a UK tax payer gift aid really does help us make your donations go a long way.
