The Arctic Jubilee Expedition plans to visit the most remote part of the Commonwealth realm and climb the highest point, Mount Barbeau, which has only been summited 8 times throughout history. This will strengthen Anglo-Canadian bonds by bringing HM Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee to Nunavut and promoting Inuit culture through Education Through Expeditions' educational partnerships with UK schools.

Why they need our service

Raising cultural awareness, celebrating HRH Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee and educating young people in climate change issues are important aspects of fostering compassion, respect and responsibility in young people today. Local communities around the South West need strong and positive role models such as the ambassadors of ETE and the Arctic Jubilee team to inspire them to become valuable members of the community and take responsibility around environmental issues for the future.

Plan and expected results

ETE and the Arctic Jubilee Team aim to change the way in which children are taught in the classroom. By inspiring students through interactive 'real' life learning we anticipate that children will take ownership of their learning and making positive contributions to their own education and their local communities.
