This Christmas will be my first with my now 7 month old daughter Jessica so I have decided to do something a little different to mark this years advent.
Each day from the 1st December until the 24th December, come rain or shine, I will be running 5k - that's 75 miles in total!
I will be running with Jessica in her pushchair as much as possible so let's hope we have a dry December!
I am taking on this challenge which is out of my comfort zone for a cause that is extremely close to my heart.
'Something To Look Forward To' is an award winning, social action cancer charity run by one of my best friends and her mother. They improve the lives of families affected by cancer poverty in the UK by providing donated 'gifts' and 'experiences' including holidays, restaurant meals, tickets to attractions, Christmas presents and much more!
When you are given the news you have cancer you are also hit with a hidden price tag and financial burden. This means that for many, the first things to go are life's 'little luxuries' at a time when they are needed most. Having 'something to look forward to' during what is an extremely traumatic time is so important for people's emotional health and wellbeing and can in turn aid survival.
Please help me give families affected by cancer poverty opportunities to create positive memories together by giving what you can to help me reach my target.
If you live in the Sandhurst area you may well see us out running so please do beep your horn in a show of support!
I'll also be uploading lots of photos of us both so keep an eye out!
Thank you for your support, Emma and Jessica x
