The 3rd 'Farm & River' Route Mental Health Awareness walk will take place on Sunday 7th October in Burton Joyce. Participants can chose to either run, walk or ride the 2.5 mile route. All welcome, and there will be tractor and trailer ride available for the very young or old. All donations and money raised is going to help raise funds to improve mental healthcare for young adults, through Harmless in conjunction with The Tomorrow Project and The Hope Project. Harmless is an organisation that combines personal and professional experience to support people who self harm, their friends and families, and professionals. They believe in recovery, and through their work they want to promote health and well being. So many people who self harm feel overwhelmed by their emotions, and this is something they want to work hard to change.Harmless was set up by people who understand self harm and at the heart of their service is a real sense of hope. They directly challenge and improve discrimination, stigma and isolation created by misconceptions about self harm and the people who it affects. By working in this manner they can promote awareness, public compassion and improve the quality of support and understanding that surround the diverse range of people that self harm. They promote dialogue about self harm, promote and enhance public perceptions and understanding and enhance client sense of empowerment and encouragement. Thank you for showing an interest in supporting our event.
