The oldest urban farm in Britain needs your pennies and pounds! This Autumn, staff and supporters at Kentish Town City Farm will be jumping out of planes, running till they drop, and cycling till they reach the sea – all in aid of the children and young people who come to the farm during school holidays. Our farm is in one of the most deprived parts of London and keeping these school holiday activities free or subsidised is really important to us. We’re very grateful to Jo Hynes, Chris Chamberlain, Sophie Walters & Gus Alston for giving up their time to help raise much needed funds. If you’d like to sponsor them – or join one of these challenges! – here are your options: 1) SKYDIVING! On 27th October, Sophie & Gus will be leaping out of a plane. 2) CYCLING! On 22nd September Chris & Gus will be cycling from London to Brighton. DUE TO CHRIS INJURING HIMSELF, THIS LEG OF THE CHALLENGE IS BEING POSTPONED UNTIL SPRING. IDEA NOW IS THAT I WILL RIDE IT MYSELF THIS WINTER, THEN CHRIS & I ARE GOING TO TAKE ON A LONGER CYCLE NEXT YEAR! 3) RUNNING! On 8th September, Jo & Gus are both going to run 10km in under 1 hour. Thank you in advance for all your kind support - please come and visit the farm soon, we've just become home to two tiny Oxford Sandy and Black pedigree piglets who would love to meet you.
