We will need to subsidise the Running Costs of a new mobile classroom which will replace our current 10 yr old mobile at the end of 2012. Although Capital funding is being provided by the John James Bristol Foundation, Revenue Costs will have to be fully met, not only by charging schools at an reasonable level but by additional fund raising to meet the expected shortfall in income.
Why they need our serviceOur current mobile classroom is now over 10 years old and will be replaced. Given the need to replace the vehicle, our new project seeks to cover the ongoing Running Cost Shortfall which we have been encountering for the past 3 years of operation. This derives from a need, at this time of economic restrictions, to invoice our schools with a daily charge for our services, which they can afford to pay. This shortfall is currently running around £70/day.
Plan and expected resultsThe maintenance of our Life Education Centres Bristol service to local primary school children into a 2nd decade through continued visits of our unique, fully staffed and specially equipped, mobile classroom. Loss of such service provided by Life Education Centres Bristol and built up over 10 years, would have a deterimental effect on local children at a time when, more than ever, they need the benefits that our school visits provide.
