Sunbury and Walton Sea Cadets at TS Black Swan is fundraising for Fit Out of its new building
Since 1943 Sunbury and Walton Sea Cadets has delivered fantastic training to thousands of 10-18 year olds helping them learn teamwork, respect, loyalty, self-confidence, commitment, self-discipline, honesty and how to fulfil their potential in a safe and friendly environment.
The old centre near Walton Bridge was badly damaged by floods in 2014 and the decision made to rebuild above flood level if funds could be found made. Work started in late 2019 but Covid, transport issues, price increases and the contractor going into administration made progress very difficult. 50 cadets continue to benefit from attending and there are 65 more on the waiting list!
Determined to continue despite the setbacks you can see the real progress made with the building shell complete in the photo and ready for fitting out the inside.
This exciting project needs your help. We have to fundraise to fit out the hall, classrooms, changing rooms, showers and kitchen. Then at last cadets can move into the new fit for purpose and above flood level building supporting training of young people and the local community.
