For International Men’s Day 2024, Male Childcare & Teaching Jobs is proud to host a special cook-off competition to raise funds for Lads Need Dads. This exciting event challenges the outdated stereotype that the kitchen is a woman's domain while shining a spotlight on men's mental health and wellbeing.
The inspiration for this fundraiser comes from our shared commitment to supporting men as they navigate their roles both in the home and in their personal lives. By encouraging men to step into the kitchen and showcase their culinary talents, we are breaking down barriers and proving that cooking is a valuable skill for everyone, regardless of gender. This event also provides a platform for open discussion about men’s mental health, creating a space where men can connect, share their experiences, and find support.
Our primary goal is to raise essential funds for Lads Need Dads, a fantastic organisation dedicated to empowering boys and young men without father figures. The funds will go towards providing much-needed mentoring, emotional support, and life skills development, helping these boys grow into confident, well-rounded adults.
Through this event, we aim to show that cooking is for everyone and to promote the importance of nurturing men’s wellbeing in all aspects of life. The funds raised will help ensure that Lads Need Dads continues its crucial work while encouraging men to take pride in both their mental health and their role in the kitchen. We hope this event will leave a lasting impact, not just for those who participate but for the wider community as well.
