On Sunday 8th September 2024, Gabby is taking part in the Great North Run in support of Getaway Girls. 

The Great North Run is the largest half marathon in the world, with 60,000 runners taking on the 13.1 mile route from Newcastle to South Shields. 

Getaway Girls is a Leeds-based project which has been empowering young women for the last 35 years.

Their work is a balance of support, challenges, opportunities and fun, and they've supported nearly 14,000 young women to date. 

Getaway Girls supports young women through a range of different means, from exploring creative opportunities and workshops, to individual support needs and counselling, as well as peer support groups, such as the young mums group. 

The money will contribute towards helping girls build confidence and teamwork skills through sports and outdoor pursuits activities.

Commenting on her upcoming half marathon, Gabby says: "I'm really looking forward to supporting Getaway Girls, a great project that is close to my heart. I'd really appreciate any support and donations to help provide even more opportunities for young women in Leeds to explore different sports and confidence building activities."
