I suffer with fibromyalgia, with symptoms such as pain and chronic fatigue. Two years ago I had to take a month off work for the first time ever as I was in so much pain. Suffering with fatigue, not sleeping, twitching and shaking all the time, I lost a lot of weight ( 11.5 stone down to 9.1 ). I also had terrible problems with restless legs and depression.
My main passion in life before all this started was mountain biking. Due to my chronic illness I lost almost 18 months of bike riding. Now I am back in full time training and will be attempting the South Downs Way 106 mile off road mountain bike challenge in only ONE day!!! This epic challenge runs from Winchester to Eastbourne along varied terrains with a total of 13,000feet of climbing. This will be a true test of endurance as I am still suffering with Fibromyalgia.
It’s all thanks to the Yeleni Support Centre for cancer and chronic illness that I am able to do this. I am living proof that these people do make a difference, so I am doing this ride to raise money for the centre.
I will be doing this on 14th September with my friend Graham Tyler. Please give as much as you can, thank you for your support,
Geoff
