Bath City Farm has been an amazing part of my life for the last 5 years. My wife has been working there helping to make it into the beautiful natural haven that it is, alongside a team of passionate and dedicated staff, and a fantastic group of volunteers. Our first son has has spent countless happy days of his childhood digging, feeding animals and getting stuck in at 'Mummy's farm', where we both regularly volunteer. Our second son, 10 months old, is now getting involved as well!
The farm is a vital resource on many levels, offering sanctuary to wildlife and providing a natural haven in the city for everyone to visit and enjoy. But for me the most striking achievement of the farm is the incredible sense of community created amongst all the volunteers, many of whom have to contend with difficult lives away from the farm. Mental health is an issue very close to my heart, as it is for most who have personal experience of the devastating effect mental illness can have. What the farm achieves in supporting many people with mental health issues is nothing short of amazing, combining the healing qualities of nature and working on the land with a supportive and non-judgemental community fostered by a passionate and skilled team. It is for all of these reasons that I am determined to fundraise in support of continuing the great and vital work of the farm, and would massively appreciate any donations that you can give.
My wholehearted thanks,
George
