From 21st October to 3rd November, Ghandi will be cycling by day and sleeping out in a hammock by night. Along the way 10 others will be joining Ghandi for a leg of the 2 week journey.

Why is Ghandi taking on this mammoth task? To raise money for Imara!
Imara is an early-intervention specialist service that supports children, young people and their families across Nottinghamshire following a disclosure of child sexual abuse. 1 in 20 children in the UK have experienced sexual abuse, with some estimates as high as 1 in 4. Your donation will help Imara continue to provide support to survivors and their families in three ways:
- Legal: Providing information, practical and emotional support throughout the criminal justice process, supporting children at Video Interview and Forensic Medical Examinations
- Therapeutic: Therapy sessions to children, siblings and parents to help with recovery in areas such as anxiety, depression and flashbacks.
- Advocacy: Supporting children and their families with education, health, housing and financial concerns.
Throughout lockdown Imara has continued to provide therapy sessions and support to children and their families remotely online, providing art and wellness materials to them at home when they have been unable to access support in person.
NSPCC reported that during lockdown there had been a threefold increase in the number of calls to Childline about child sexual abuse within the family, with some children telling Childline that sexual abuse had become more frequent during lockdown, as they were spending more time with their abuser. Lockdown has added an extra challenge for those young people considering disclosing sexual abuse as they have had less opportunity to speak to trusted adults outside the home.
Please dig deep to support Ghandi's incredible effort, and to help Imara be ready to support every child and young person who needs them.
Well done Ghandi! Great challenge and a really great charity 👏
