Homelessness can strike anyone, at anytime. There is no 'ideal' time to become homeless. So I've decided to do a Sleep Out challenge to raise funds for Good News Family Care (GNFC). And since many women who find themselves without a roof over their head could very well be expecting a baby as well, I'll be doing this challenge while 33 wks pregnant! Will this be easy? - Nope! Am I terrified of actually doing it? - Yes! Especially since I've never done something like this before! But I'm doing it anyway, and I'm asking for your support while I do it.
GNFC is a charity, based in Buxton, that helps women (and often their children as well) fleeing from domestic abuse, homelessness, and addiction. The work they do in reaching out to and helping vulnerable women is not only commendable but also very necessary in a society where homelessness and single parenting is on the rise.
