It is not easy to find the right words when discussing the sensitive and painful topic of sexual abuse. For many survivors, it takes an incredible amount of courage to share their experiences with others. As a close relative of someone who has been sexually abused, I have witnessed the strength and resilience it takes to confront and overcome the trauma of such experiences. It is with this in mind that I have chosen to dedicate my run to all victims of sexual abuse, and specifically to those who have been abused by the very people who were supposed to protect and care for them.
You're not a victim for sharing your story. You are a survivor setting the world on fire with your truth. And you never know who needs your light, your warmth, and raging courage.
