CHAT provides a free, impartial housing advice service thorugh surgeries, drop-in or e-mail to residents in Mid Devon irrespective of age, gender, religion or status. The service is affilated to the National Housing Advice Service and is endorsed by local town and district councils. It is available from Monday to Friday each week.

Many people cannot obtain housing advice from the local authority so where do they go? CHAT's housing advice service is the only one of its type in the area and has a regular caseload of between 40-50 clients. Primarily it was established to prevent homelessness but also assists those who are unfortunately already without a place to call home.
