SexYOUality is a local charity dedicated to making Cambridgeshire a safe and comfortable environment for Young LGBT people. A quick google would uncover many troubling statistics about LGBT youth in relation to heightened cases of bullying, anxiety, depression, suicides, and hate crimes. SexYOUality continues to help young LGBT people like myself to be more comfortable in our own skin. The charity offers a plethora of support throughout the community working with LGBT and Heterosexual young people to help make the streets and the schools of Cambridgeshire a healthy place for everyone regardless of their sexuality to live.
SexYOUality, as tacky as it sounds has undoubtedly changed my life for the better. It's given me the confidence to openly be who I am, and know about the issues relevant to me. It's presented me with new friends, and opportunities that have helped me to grow more confident.
Participating in the Spartan Race-(AKA the death of me) and fundraising for SexYOUality is my way of trying to give back for everything the staff have done for me over the years.
I'd like to thank all of the staff and volunteers for all the work they do every day and hope that my little contribution can help them to continue helping others the way they helped me.
