I am running the Bath Half this year to raise funds for our charity partner, Bath City Farm.
Bath City Farm is a community farm set on 37-acres in Twerton, Bath. They exist to support and empower disadvantaged members of the local community by providing skill based courses, volunteering and workshops. They are also a free visitor attraction providing education and enjoyment for families and children. It costs £850 a day to run the farm and last year the farm ran at a deficit. Fundraising is a vital stream of income, they do not receive any funding from the Government. Please sponsor me to help keep the farm open and accessible for all!
The farm’s neighbourhood is within the 20% of most deprived areas in England. It also has the highest proportion of children living in poverty in the county. They deliver 10 different farm-based projects under two programmes, Roots to Health - which supports adults with complex health and social needs and Branching Out - to improve the lives for children and young people facing adversity. They benefit the wider community by providing a visitor and education centre in horticulture, nature and farming.
